Yes, I know all about the Market Deeping track. I was chatting with one of the lads at Terry Wrights last saturday and they needed about 3k as a guarantee for the contractor and a local builder stumped up the cash. Good PR considering housebuilders are having tough time right now - and it's only going to get worse I'm afraid......

As for cycling facilities in Spalding I think we should all show are support for Adam and take a pro-active stance with the SHDC. I know the news was very disappointing but at least we have a piece of land that is already geared up for a modern BMX track - it's well over 20 years old but still has potential but I do think that any refurbed BMX track would have to have better security e.g. a fence and no access without helmet, gloves, long sleeves. This is the way forward and will prevent the vandals from do any damage.

Maybe we could ask Broadgate Homes to stump up some cash for the BMX track - they could always sell some of their land that they have bought in recent years which borders the Castle Sports Complex (there's no tactical reason for that I would suppose..........??) and would be good PR for them.

I know that the "keep The Castle" campaign will continue and part of what they stand for is to ensure that the current facilities are improved. I'm meeting with them next thursday evening. I know that they are greatly concerned about the state of the BMX track, atheletics track and the vandalism and they could prove to be quite useful.......

Regards

I think we should keep the pressure on the council by having quarterly cycle protests!

Hey Will,

I think we should have monthly cycle protests or a "keep the car out of Spalding town centre for a day each month" protest (we could have town centre cycling events then) Very Happy

Regards
