Chocolate oat cake.Ingredients:-
2.5 oz sugar
2 oz marg or butter
1 tbsp golden syrup
1.5 oz cocoa powder
1 egg
4 oz oats
2 oz self raising flour
1 apple – raw and pureed (in a blender)
Splosh of milk
Put the sugar, marg, golden syrup and cocoa in a heat proof bowl and zap at full power in the microwave for 1 minute. Mix well.
Put the remaining ingredients (minus the milk) in a bowl, add the cocoa mixture and mix well add a splosh of milk so that the mixture stirs easily.
Pour mixture into a greased 8” cake tin and bake at 180 (160 for fan ovens) for 25 minutes.
