BSCA Championship resultsSpalding Cycling Club members Sam Bentley and Jake Norton represented local schools in the British Schools Cycling Association Cyclocross championships on Sunday 25th January. Held at Halifax, West Yorkshire in windy but, thankfully, dry conditions both came away with creditable results.
The technically challenging course required good bike skills to negotiate and both came away unscatherd. 
In the under 8s race Weston Hills Schoolboy Jake battled hard over 15 minutes to 5th in the boys standings out of 16 starters. He competed well throughout, finishing only a short distance behind the eventual race winner. 
In the under 12's race, Spalding Grammar Schoolboy Sam raced well over 25 minutes. Despite entering the first bend at 12th out of 19 starters he worked his way through the field to end the race in a very satisfying 6th place.
